Patrick Brady was born in Kilsyth in 1941. He was educated at Blairs junior seminary in Aberdeen and at Drygrange Seminary.

He was ordained in St Patrick's Kilsyth by His Grace Archbishop Gordon Joseph Gray subsequently His Eminance Cardinal Gray in March 1965. He was ordained in the new St Patrick's church as part of a double ordination to the Priesthood together with Fr John Gordon also from Kilsyth, on the day after the new Church had been opened.

His first appointment was as assistant Priest at St Catherine's Edinburgh where he was posted from 1965 to 1970. There are no further entries in the Scottish Catholic Archives for Fr. Brady after this time.
