Rev. John Deighan

Rev John Deighan at St Patrick's Kilsyth 7th Aug 2011

Our new temporary Deacon the Rev. John Deighan was born and grew up in Kirkcaldy, Fife. His home parish is St Marie's, Kirkcaldy. After finishing his secondary education at St Andrew's High School he then attended Edinburgh University to study literature.

Then, after a year doing voluntary work he set off for the Scots College in Rome, where he has been based for the past six years. In May 2011 he was ordained a deacon, and, God willing, will complete his journey to the priesthood in June 2012.

He has previously completed pastoral placements in Falkirk, Edinburgh, Glenrothes, Stirling and Livingston, and is looking forward to his short placement at St Patrick's Kilsyth until September.
