Following the shocking desecration of the Church on 11th October 2009, Carinal O'Brien wrote a letter to the Parish offering his solidarity and prayers. Subsequently on the 27th of December 2009 His Eminance graciously offered us a pastoral visit and despite the freezing temperatures and with nearly a foot of snow outside, there was a warm welcome waiting for him inside St Patrick's.
